Silent disco wedding: the party goes on in headphones

A silent disco wedding keeps the dance floor full even when the venue asks you to turn the music down. Every guest picks a channel, and you dance until late.

Country houses, castles, vineyards and seaside villas often have a time after which the speakers must go quiet, because many towns limit outdoor music at night. Just as the party finds its rhythm, someone reaches for the volume. With a silent wedding that moment never comes: guests put on their headphones, the floor keeps moving and the only sound drifting across the garden is laughter and footsteps.

The best moment to start is after dinner. Drinks and the wedding breakfast flow with background music; then the cake is cut, the headphones come out and the silent disco wedding begins. Your DJ, or the playlist you have prepared, plugs into our transmitters, and we take care of the equipment, sanitised and delivered before the big day. It works just as well for a destination wedding abroad as for a reception close to home. New to the idea? Read how a silent disco works.

Why it works

Why choose a silent disco for your wedding

Past the music curfew

When the venue switches off the sound system, the music moves into the headphones. The evening can run late without disturbing anyone who lives nearby.

Three genres, three generations

Classics and Motown for parents and grandparents, pop for your friends, house for the ones who stay until sunrise. The LED shows who is listening to what.

Conversation at the tables

Guests who would rather talk stay seated without shouting. Older relatives are spared the volume of a wall of speakers.

Photos nobody else has

The glowing headphones light up the dance floor and give your photographer shots that look like no other wedding.

Kind to historic venues

Frescoed halls, cloisters and listed gardens do not need towers of speakers: no vibration on fragile floors and ceilings.

Ready before the wedding

Charged headphones, transmitters and spares arrive one or two days in advance, with instructions. There is time for a calm test run.

How it works

Silent disco wedding in three moments

1

Lock in the kit with the date

Estimate how many guests will dance and ask for a quote as soon as the date is confirmed. For weddings abroad, book a little earlier so shipping can be planned.

2

Hand the connection to your DJ

The DJ, or whoever runs the playlist, connects the mixer or laptop to the transmitters with XLR or RCA cables. A quick check before the couple arrives and you are ready.

3

Hand out headphones after the cake

A table next to the dance floor and two people handing out headphones and explaining the channels: within minutes everyone is dancing.

How many headphones does a wedding need?

You do not need one for every guest. After dinner only part of the party dances while others stay at the tables or wander outside. For a wedding of 120 guests, for example, a kit of 100 headphones usually covers the floor with room to spare.

  • Channels: two are enough to alternate genres; the third is useful with two DJs or a channel just for slow dances.
  • Transmitters: the TX-350 is the usual choice for multi-channel set-ups; the TX-330, with its built-in battery, is ideal for a dance floor on a lawn far from the sockets.
  • Indicative prices: up to 50 headphones €250–400, up to 100 €450–700, up to 200 €850–1,000.
  • Booking: tell us the date, the venue and the number of guests in a custom quote; we call you back within 24 hours.

Silent disco wedding tips for a floor that never empties

A few details turn a nice idea into a dance floor that stays full until the last song.

  • Build anticipation: a line on the invitation or a sign at the entrance gets guests curious before dinner even starts.
  • Headphone station: set up a table near the floor with a sign matching each colour to its genre. Whether to ask for an ID in exchange is up to you: among friends and family most couples simply trust their guests.
  • Volume: hand out headphones with the volume low and invite people to turn the dial up gradually.
  • First dance: do it on the speakers, then switch to headphones. The moment the room goes silent while the floor keeps dancing never fails to impress.
  • Battery life: headphones arrive charged and last up to 10 hours, longer than any reception. Keep the spares close at hand.
  • End of the night: a basket by the exit helps you collect every headphone before guests leave.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about: weddings

How much does a silent disco wedding cost?

It depends on how many headphones you need. As an indicative reference, up to 100 headphones cost €450–700 and up to 200 cost €850–1,000. The cost per person drops as the numbers grow; shipping outside Italy and Spain is quoted separately.

Do you provide the DJ?

No. We rent headphones and transmitters but we do not organise events or supply DJs. You can connect the DJ you have already booked, or a playlist from a laptop or phone.

Can you still hear music in the room?

With the speakers off, only a faint whisper comes from the headphones. That is exactly what lets you keep dancing when the venue asks for quiet.

Will my grandparents manage the headphones?

Yes. They are worn like normal headphones, the volume has a dial and the channel changes with one button. The LED colour shows straight away which music they are tuned to.

Can you deliver to a destination wedding abroad?

Yes. The kit ships from our warehouses in Italy and Spain with a dedicated logistics service and arrives one or two days before the event. Outside the EU, and for islands, book earlier so shipping and paperwork can be agreed when we quote.
